Who we are
The Compound Engine (https://thecompoundengine.com) is a personal educational blog. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
What we collect now
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle it.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics after you accept the analytics banner. It helps show which pages are read, approximate location, device type and traffic source. This is used in aggregate to improve the site.
- Newsletter. If you use the temporary newsletter form, it opens an email addressed to us with the details you entered. Until a proper email platform is added, newsletter requests are handled manually.
What we may collect later
If a dedicated newsletter provider is added, your email address will be stored with that provider solely to send you the newsletter. Every email will include an unsubscribe link.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, run third-party advertising trackers, or ask for more information than the site needs.
Cookies
The site itself sets no marketing cookies. Analytics may use minimal cookies or cookieless measurement; embedded third-party content (if any) is governed by that provider's policy.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within one month.
